returning from a month on the coast

I’d barely got this blog up and running when other business forced us back to the coast for a month. I’ve now effectively sub-let my Redfern apartment to my flatmate and her friend for a few months as Al and I eke out our savings renovating in an idyllic rural paradise for resale. It was quite something to leave this…

but that’s not what you’re here for. So yes, we arrived in Grenfell and got straight back into it. The HIlls Hoist has been replanted round the sunny side (in the background below, with the privacy lattices not yet erected), and the old concrete under the trellis is coming up to be relaid as crazy paving. We’ve had the electrician in to replace the fluorescent tube on the loungeroom ceiling (so nice) with a lovely milk glass and wrought-iron pendant I bought on the internet. I’m still painting the French doors. More interior shots in the next post.

Lifting the ancient concrete under the grape trellis was surprisingly easy. We'll level out the ground, extend the trellis, and pave a sun-and-shade entertaining area.
